Warrior Dash 2010

Last weekend we went with some friends to Joliet, Illinois for the 2010 Warrior Dash, a “5k Fun Run Race For the Cure” (5 points if you know what that’s from). Just kidding, it’s most certainly not for charity. You basically dress up and run over obstacles and through the mud, just for fun.

After the run we drove another hour to Chicago and had dinner (a very late, long, drawn out dinner) in the city.

It was Kacie’s longest time yet away from Bella, but they both did just fine.

Resolution = Epic Fail

So my New Year’s Resolution was to update the blog more consistently. And here I am, in mid-May, making my first update since January. For consolation, I tell myself that everyone fails at New Year’s resolutions.

Lots going on. The big news is that Kacie is finally done with school! Her official graduation isn’t until next week, but she’s done with classes and already moved on with her life (right now she’s in the other room reading Twilight, the first non-school book she’s picked up in close to three years). She’s looking forward to having her life back, and I’m looking forward to her doing my laundry again.

Bella turns 10 months today! It feels like 10 days and 10 years, all at the same time. It’s pretty unbelievable how much a human grows and learns in such a short amount of time.

Other than that, not much to report. We were considering trying to sell our condo, but in the end, we’ve decided to wait it out. It’s a great time to buy, that’s irrelevant if you can’t get out of where you are. Stimulus what?

For now, enjoy some video. I recently bought a new camera for shooting weddings, so this is some experimental footage I’ve shot over the past couple weeks. The Flip camera that I previously used to shoot our blog videos took a trip through the washing machine, and now it’s a perfectly useful paperweight. Maybe the new camera will give me an excuse to do more posts.

Well, it’s been about 5 months since our last blog update. Needless to say, tiny ones takes up a lot of time. That’s probably not a good excuse for not posting in so long. Part of my (TJ) New Year’s resolution is to start making regular posts again, but knowing how those things usually go, by mid-February I’ll be back off the wagon again (or is it “on the wagon”?).

To kick things off in the new year, here’s a video I shot Friday night of Bella having her nightly bowl of oatmeal. As a side note, it was shot with a
Canon 5D Mark ii. I had a video shoot on Saturday and was practicing with the camera at home.

Life After Bella

Well, we made it. I guess if you can survive the first month, you can survive anything. Other than the tiny one, not much has been going on. Normally we post about places we’ve gone or things we’ve done, but our life pretty much revolves around her now. That’s not to say that we don’t go places or do things, but it’s all dictated by what Bella is in the mood for (“Do I want to eat now, or do I want to poop now. Heck, maybe I’ll do both!”). We’ve tried to be good about not letting her keep us cooped up inside, so we get out as much as reasonably possible.
